The City Council members welcomed the guests from Ukraine

Today, 25th of September in the City Council session hall, the Chairman and the members of the City Council welcomed the guests from Ukraine as part of the project implemented by the Institute of Political Education of Kiev.
The local representative bodies’ members, journalists, leaders of public organizations and education officials of Ukraine visited Batumi City Council within the frame of the visit. The City Council Chairman-Irakli Tcheishvili talked about friendly relations between Georgia and Ukraine, reforms carried out in local self-government, self-government independence and instruments of democracy at the local level. The chairman of Finance and Economic Development Committee-Tengiz Apkhazava briefed the guests about local development prospects and long-term plans, as well as talked about investment environment in the region. After sharing experience and reforms held in local self-government system, the guests were interested with an ongoing political process in the country. The meeting was held in the City Council session hall in discussion mode.
The goal of a project-“Georgian experience for local self-government” of the Institute of Political Education of Kiev is a familiarization of Georgia’s self-government system reforms, get practical tips and sharing experience.
