At the Session of the Education, Culture, Tourism and Sport Issues Commission of Batumi Municipality City Council, the members of the commission discussed the draft resolution on approving the rules for Introduction and approval of honorary awards for the citizens of Batumi Municipality. The goal of the project is to draw up a comprehensive and effective legal framework document on granting honorary titles. According to the draft resolution, the title of "Honorable Citizen of Batumi" is defined as the honorary title of Batumi municipality. According to the project, the title of "Honorable Citizen of Batumi" can be granted to a citizen of Georgia registered in Batumi Municipality and / or a Georgian citizen born in Batumi for the last 10 years in Batumi and has special merits with the public, professional and / or other activities of Batumi Municipality and Georgia. Honorary title should be given to the person once in a lifetime. It is not allowed to award the person with honorary title after his death. According to the project, the rule and the conditions of nominating a candidate for the honorary rank, as well as the creation of the advisory council is determined.
