The Extraordinary Session of Batumi City Council

The extraordinary session of Batumi City Council was held today, where deputies discussed the agenda consisting of six issues. The agenda was presented by the City Council chairman- Irakli Tcheishvili.
By the City Council decision the changes were made into the Batumi City Budget 2016, according to which the budget allocations for particular programs/sub-programs were raised by 892 thousand GEL.  The changes provide the distribution of resources into different fields, which ultimately will improve the social-economic situation of the citizens of Batumi. As the deputy head of Finance and Economic Department of Batumi City Hall- Archil Vanadze stated, the changes were implemented basically for the construction and rehabilitation works of the Infrastructure, education, culture, youth, health and social welfare programs.
The new edition of the staff of Batumi City Council was approved at the session today. Also, changes were implemented into the staff units of Batumi City Hall.  Because of the changes made into the Georgian legislation, according to which the property rights recognition commission on the parcels of land moved under the subordination of the executive body of a municipality, the two working positions moved from the City Council into the City Hall.
The City Council Members supported the draft decree according to which the city hall was asked to implement the interest of the city council into the courts of all instances, as well as in the Constitutional Court.
By the decision of the city council, 5500 tiles and 2100 square meters sidewalk paving pieces (secondary) will be transferred to the possession of the Patriarchate of Georgia, with the right to borrow. 
The City Council Session was attended by the Mayor of Batumi- Giorgi Ermakovi, the Vice Mayor-Bagrat Manvelidze and by the representatives of Batumi City Hall, non-governmental organizations and public society.
