Today, at Batumi City Council Session Hall the joint project- “What is European Integration?” was presented by the fund “Open Society” and “Romania’s European Research Centre”. The aim of this presentation was to inform citizens about European integration process.
The project was presented by the Romanian former minister of justice, now MEP – Monica Macovei and by the representative of “Romania’s European Research Centre” – Ciprian Chiucu.
Monica Macovei together with the representative of “Romania’s European Research Centre” talked about the importance of strong and independent institutions, judiciary and public administration issues. The MEP Monica Macovei also talked about Romania’s integration into EU based on the example of current challenges, which is accompanied by the EuroIntegration process.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of Batumi City Council, members of the council, the Mayor of Batumi and the representatives of civil society. The discussion lasted nearly three hours.
