BATUMI MUNICIPALITY CITY COUNCIL

Return Visit to Ukraine and Poland

The Deputy Chairman of Batumi City Council- Irakli Chavleishvili, the head of the Education, Science, Culture and Sports Committee of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara- Giorgi Masalkini, and the Deputy Head of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara- Lasha Chavleishvili, paid a return visit to Ukraine and Poland. The return visit was planned one month ago, when the members of the delegation hosted guests from Ukraine and Poland in Batumi.
During the visit to Poland Irakli Chavleishvili held the meetings at the University of Nysa. The members of the delegation also visited the local enterprises. The meetings revealed the huge interest towards our city in the fields of culture and economy.
The official meetings were also held in the City of Ternopil (Ukraine). As it is known Ternopil and Batumi are sister cities, hence it follows that the main issue of the meetings was discussing the on-going and the future joint projects.
In the frames of the visit the members of the delegation participated in a different activities. They took part in the 202 anniversary of the Poet - Taras Shevchenko, laid a wreath on the graves of the soldiers who died in Donetsk and Lugansk regions military operations, and joined the meeting which demanded releasing the National Hero of Ukraine Nadezhda Savchenko. 
The visit of the Batumi Delegation was actively covered in the local media which, basically, showed a great interest towards our country’s cultural, economic and touristic potential.
