On the festive ceremony in the Europe Parliament, in Brussels, Batumi was awarded European Sport City Status. Georgian Delegation from Batumi City Council, which was headed by the Mayor of City Lasha Komakhidze, attended the Chairman of Education, Culture, Tourism and Sport Issues Commission Irakli Pataridze. Title of European Sport City and the flag was awarded to Mayor of Batumi and members of delegation by the president of ACES Europe Gian F. Lupattelli, the members of commission got acquainted with the sport objects of Batumi. By the decision of ACES Europe, title of European Sport City of 2019 year-was awarded to Batumi, title of the capital city of European Sport was awarded to Budapest. The official ceremony attended members of parliament, ministers, mayors and other delegations.
