Today, the Chairman of Batumi City Council Suliko Tebidze and members of City Council remembered heroes who died on 23th of March, 1921 year and with minute of silence honored their memory. The event attended the Chairman of Ajara Government Zurab Pataradze, Mayor of city Lasha Komakhidze and representative of legislative and executive organs.
In 1921 year Georgia was Sovietized, after which military parts of Turkey occupied Batumi. Georgian general Giorgi Mazniashvili made Batumi free. Search of the graves of dead heroes started in 1990 year, group of 10 people during one month worked on the central square, after the excavation was discovered battle weapons, different things and bodies of dead heroes. The part of them was re-buried in different regions of Georgia. Personality of 27 from 50 heroes wasn’t identified.
