Today, first regular meeting of new-convened City Council was carried out in Batumi Municipality City Council. Order about holding first meeting of 2017 year convened City Council on 20th of November was received by Central Election Commission. First regular meeting of new elected City Council of Batumi was opened by the chairman of 79 Election District Tsiala Shavadze, she made report about results of election in front of members of City Council. The chairman of the district handed to the elder member of City Council Anzor Devadze, summed minutes of the results of 21 October, 2017 year elections and all necessary documents for recognition of authority of new-elected members of City Council. After election of temporary Mandate Commission, according to the standing order of City Council, authority of new-convened members of City Council was known, based on which authority was terminated to the old-convened members of City Council. After recognition of the authority of the members of City Council, on the first regular meeting of City Council, which was led by the elder member Anzor Devadze, according to the agenda of the meeting, with the presentation of majority, on the position of the Chairman of City Council, was named candidacy of Suliko Tebidze. As the result of hidden voting, the Chairman of forth-convened City Council, with 19 votes, became Suliko Tebidze. New-elected chairman of City Council, on the position of the deputy chairmen of City Council named Tamaz Salukvadze and Lasha Sirabidze. Members of City Council by the majority of hidden votes confirmed presented candidates. Today were also named candidates of the chairmen of five standing committees, who by majority of voices were confirmed on the positions. As the tesult of voting, The Chairman of Education, Culture, Tourism and Sport Issues Commission became Irakli Pataridze, The Chairman of Financial and Economical Development Commission became Zurab Nakaidze, The Chairman of Legal and Procedural Issues Commission became-Omar Makharadze, The Chairman of Health Defense and Social Issues Commission-Dimitri Tcheishvili, The Chairman of Infrustructural Development Commission-Gocha Mgeladze. The 25 membered City Council of 2017 convene will have 19 members from “Georgian Dream”, 4 from “National Movement”, 1 member from “European Georgia” and one from “Patriot Alliance”. First meeting of new-convened City Council attended Mayor of Batumi, Members of previous-convened City Council, members of Georgian Parliament and Ajara Supreme Council, representatvives of civil services, non-govermental services and society.
