Suliko Tebidze Is to Elect as a Chairperson of Batumi Municipality City Council

Suliko Tebidze has been elected as a Chairperson of Batumi City Council at the first session by the Council of convocation 2017. The candidacy of Suliko Tebidze was nominated by the majority of the Council after 19 of the 25 members, by ballot voting, supported his candidacy.

Newly elected Chairperson thanked his colleagues for trusting and said that he will be able to deal with many issues together with members of the City Council of new convocation. He thanked the City Council members of previous convocation for the work they performed, and congratulated Lasha Komakhidze  to be elected as a Mayor Batumi.

Before taking part in the election of local self-government Suliko Tebidze occupied the position of Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, and Sports Minister of Ajara’s Autonomous Republic. He is a mathematician and has actively been involved in pedagogical and public activities for years.
