Extraordinary Session

Today in Batumi Representative Body extraordinary session of the City Council has been held led by Suliko Tebidze – the Chairperson of the Council. Before approving the agenda members of the City Council, with minute’s silence, paid tribute to victims of fire happened in the hotel “Leogrand” on November 24.  On today’s extraordinary session the City Council members discussed about changes to be made in the current year budget of Batumi. According to the project introduced changes will be made in a row of programs of healthcare and social provision in the budget 2017. In particular, sponsoring of hepatitis C diagnosis and treatment monitoring, citizens individual medical assistance and sponsoring of subprograms providing financial assistance to vulnerable social groups are going to be increased. Expenses for sports infrastructure rehabilitation and sports club teams support are increasing in direction of education, culture, tourism and sports. According to the project sponsoring of infrastructure rehabilitation and capital construction as well as communal infrastructure institutions’ rehabilitation projects will be increased. The 2017 budget has been changed at the expense of transfers allocated from Georgian state budget and republican budget of Ajara’s Autonomous Republic, own budget incomes and savings fixed after completion of tenders as well causing changes in various subprograms. Majority of the City Council members supported changes to be made to the draft budget introduced. At the session the Council members supported the recognition of Roin   Zoidze’s authority, who is the substitute of the member went out, and issues on changes to be made in the Education, Culture, Tourism and Sports Commission personnel. Extraordinary session was attended by the Vice-Mayor, the Deputy of the Mayor, NGO and public representatives.
