Today, the Acting Chairman of Batumi City Council Lasha Sirabidze, met with German company “A+S Consult” transport system planning and modeling specialist, expert Dmitiy Bespalov.
The meeting was attended by the Georgian Transport specialist Giorgi Gigauri, UNDP and Global Environment Protection Fund “Green Cities- Sustainable Integrated Transport For The Batumi City and Ajara Region” project manager Lasha Nakashidze.
On the meeting parties talked about the transport infrastructure city, existing problems in terms of traffic capacity, and the ways haw to manage them.
The City Council’s Acting Chairman familiarized the guests with main reasons why are the traffic jams risen and noted that it requires a comprehensive approach because of its big importance. 
It was noted on the meeting that it is already begun Batumi’s Integrated Sustainable Urban Transport System Development Planning, and The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia will be engaged in it together with Batumi Self-government.
By the end of the dialogue, next meeting with German side, was scheduled on 11th of October in Batumi City Council’s session hall, which will be attended by the both branches of self-government and interested persons.
