Today, members of Batumi City Council attended opening ceremony of memorial dedicated to Georgian National Hero Zhiuli Shartava in Alley of Heroes. 
Members of Zhiuli Shartava family, chairman of Ajara Government, representatives of Supreme Council, Batumi City Hall and members of society attended grand opening of the memorial. Gathered society once more recollected life and work of national hero and decorated memorial with flowers. 
Zhiuli Shartava was chairman of the Council of Ministers of Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, who was shot by separatists on 27th of September, 1993 year, on the day of the battle for Sukhumi. After death Zhiuli Shartava was entitled as National Hero.
