The Stated session of Batumi City Council

The stated session of Batumi City Council was held today at the City Council Session Hall, on which the City council members discussed the agenda consisting of 19 issues.
According to the decision adopted at the session, changes and amendments entered the resolution of February 27, 2009, “on approval of the land-tenure general plan of Self-Governing City of Batumi” basically in the engineering part of roads and streets. This change was conditioned by the necessity of planning renewal of streets existing on the city’s territory in order to provide the interests of the residents in terms of development, and long-range planning of streets and roads of the city.
The members of Batumi City Council unanimously approved a draft resolution initiated by the faction “Republicans” of the City Council. This resolution foresees establishment of new coefficient for concrete functional zones, also municipality will make decisions independently about increase of coefficient while discussing investment projects, which will be particularly important for Batumi with different point of views.
At the meeting of the City Council deputies discussed issues connected with the placement of election materials and posters connected with it, also allocation of special buildings during election period for making electoral events and they supported a draft resolution connected with these issues.
The City Council members approved the following initiatives recommended by the faction of “Free Democrats”: the proposal of building regulations in accordance with the law; the proposal of handing over the building and the land plot located on Metaksa street N 8-10 to Batumi City Municipality with the obligation of constructing new kindergarten; the proposal about constructing swimming pool in accordance with Olympic standards on the territory of Batumi Municipality.
The change was implemented in the membership of the Land Recognition Commission. The member of the commission - chief specialist of the administrative supervision division of Batumi city hall supervisory service - David Iakobadze was replaced by leading specialist of the same department- Guram Turmanidze. Herewith, the city council land recognition commission was abolished and moved under the subordination of the executive body.           
The changes were implemented in the City Council regulations. The gender equality council was established in Batumi City Council and its regulations were approved at the city council meeting.
The City Council meeting was attended by the representatives of Batumi City Hall, non-governmental organizations and public society.
