The renovated Khariton Akhvlediani Museum was opened in Batumi today. The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chairmen of Batumi City Council- Lasha Sirabidze and Irakli Chavleishvili and the members of the city council. The Chairman of Ajara AR Government- Archil Khabadze, the ministers and the Mayor of Batumi –Giorgi Ermakovi also attended the ceremony.
Rehabilitation of the museum started in 2014 and was financed by the Government of Ajara. The building was fully renovated, extra exposition halls were added and the yard was fully accomplished. In the renovated museum unique showpiece and handwritten books were exhibited. The museum houses about 180 000 exhibits: unique items, collections, photos, artwork and more than 100 golden treasure.
The Khariton Akhvlediani Museum will meet the touristic season with modern standard expositions.
