Ajarian delegation led by the Chairman of the Government is visiting Trabzon, Republic of Turkey. The delegation includes the Chairman of the Supreme Council-Avtandil Beridze, the Chairman of Batumi City Council-Irakli Tcheishvili, Minister of Education, Culture and Sports-Giorgi Tavamaisvili, his Deputy-Natia Sirabidze and Chief of Autonomous Republic of Ajara’s office.
The delegation has already met with the Trabzon Mayor Orhan Pevzi Gurmukchuoghlus. The meeting focused on the 15-year friendship anniversary date of Batumi and Trabzon. Trabzon Mayor spoke about joint projects and activities during this time. Discussion focused on the development of neighboring regions cross-border facilities and joint projects, which should be carried out in the direction of tourism, agriculture and culture.
In the frames of the visit official meetings were held with the Governor of Trabzon, Jelil Abdil Ozi, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and the business sector. The second part of the visit was devoted to education and culture. Meetings were held with senior officials of the Trabzon Eurasian University, the delegation also attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition of Khasan helimishi.
